Overview: What is Celia?
According to its website, Celia is a cryptocurrency based exchange that aims to provide a user friendly experience regarding the purchase and trading of digital based assets. Celia currently has its app available on Android, iOS (via Testflight), and a web app. It is also currently running its airdrop campaign, and their app can be used to earn its native token, the Celia Token, over a certain time period. Celia is an African cryptocurrency project co founded by Emmanuel Afula (CEO) and Favour Afula (CTO).
What is Celia Token (CLT)?
According to its website, the Celia Token (CLT) is a utility token that will be used to power its exchange platform (of the same name), and facilitate transactions within the platform. The token will also grant its holders access to exclusive features and discounts. The token also has different use cases, which include
Paying trading fees on the Celia Exchange platform.
The token will serve as the primary gas fee token on the Celia Smart Chain (CSC) network.
Making credit card payments.
Making donations.
Savings and loans.
According to its whitepaper, the token has a fixed supply of 200 million and will operate on the Binance Smartchain Network (BSC). The supply of CLT will be allocated to the following;

Features of the Celia App
The app allows its users to participate in its upcoming airdrop.
The app has a clean, basic, smooth, and user friendly interface.
The app has a leaderboard feature to see the top earners of the Celia airdrop.
The app allows the user to switch between light and dark modes.
The app has a KYC (Know Your Customer/Client) feature, which allows Celia to distinguish authentic users from inauthentic users. It has two KYC phases that require you to have a 15 day mining streak in order for a user to be qualified for it.
The app has a referral system that allows its users to invite new users, such as friends and family, to the Celia platform.
The app has a feature that allows users to play web based games such as Subway Surfers, Temple Run, etc.
The app has a language feature that allows you to change the language of the app if you are a user from a different country. The app has several languages, such as English, Arabic, French, Urdu, Spanish, etc.
The app allows a user to show or hide their balance earned from their mined tokens.
For token mining, you have the option to mine for 6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours, depending on your preference. Mining streaks are also rewarded on the app based on how many days you have been actively mining.
Overall, regardless of which version you use for the Celia platform, whether iOS, Android, or Web app, they mostly function the same and all serve the same purpose.
Differences between the Celia App on Different Platforms
Currently, Celia is available on Android, Web, and iOS, but there are some differences between the apps depending on which platform you use:
iOS
This version is currently and only available via Testflight, which was made available for a limited number of users (10,000 users only).
This version of Celia has no ads.
This version of the app has a smooth scrolling effect.
This version has push notifications with a unique notification sound. Its other counterparts do not have this feature.
When mining on the iOS version, the number of tokens you can mine is different from the other versions;
6 hours of mining will give you 0.5625 tokens
12 hours of mining will give you 0.9375 tokens
24 hours of mining will give you 1.125 tokens
Android
This version of Celia is the only version of Celia that has ads that pop up whether or not you initiate any mining related activity.
When mining on the Android version, the number of tokens you can mine are;
6 hours of mining will give you 1.125 tokens
12 hours of mining will give you 1.875 tokens
24 hours of mining will give you 2.25 tokens
Web
This version of Celia has no ads.
Whenever mining is initiated, no sound is played, unlike in the other versions.
This version of Celia has no game features compared to its iOS and Android counterparts.
You earn the same amount of tokens after mining with the Android version.
The web version uses the previous UI that the Android version had before it was upgraded.
The web version does not have a leaderboard like its other counterparts.
Now the only problem I have encountered with using the Celia app is with the Android version. Recently, when I tried to initiate a mining session on the app, it said mining was successful, but the mining sequence never started, and as a result, I lost my mining streak. I am currently in the process of restoring my streak, especially for the second KYC phase. I also do feel that the game feature is unnecessary and does not align with what the Celia app was for, as I believe that most users would rather use the app to mine Celia tokens than play games (unless the app would reward its users for the amount of time spent playing these games).
App Suggestions
The UI of the web version should be updated to match the UI of its mobile counterparts.
The notifications feature on the Android version should be as prominent as its iOS counterpart.
The mining sequence should be fixed for the Android version.
Users should have some additional forms of customization on the app apart from creating a username. It would be interesting to see there be a feature to add a profile picture on the app.
A ping feature should be added to the app so that users who refer can remind their referees to be active on the app. This could work in conjunction with the push notifications feature.
It would be nice if the ads on the Android version could be reduced. I understand that ads provide revenue for Celia, which is why I would suggest that ads only pop up wherever you want to initiate a mining sequence.
Celia could create some interactivity in their app that incentivizes their community by creating a Guess to Earn (G2E) feature. The app can integrate quizzes, codes, or votes that users can select, and if they are correct, they can earn additional CLT. The feature could ask users to go to their social media pages to look for a code and enter the code or could ask users certain questions related to cryptocurrency and the Celia project, etc.
The icons of the app could also be updated. Here is a sample of the original icons and the custom icons side to side:
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Celia platform is very promising, and I believe that this will be the best cryptocurrency project born in Africa. Although the app can still make some improvements, it still serves its functions. I encourage anyone reading this report to use the Celia app and be part of their upcoming airdrop that is set to launch in September 2024.
