A one-page launch website for a limited-edition calculator that marks ISRO’s 100th launch from Sriharikota, imagined as a collaboration with Teenage Engineering. I designed the concept, visual direction and UI on my own in 7 days.
2. The challenge
On January 29, 2025, ISRO completed its 100th launch with the GSLV-F15 mission carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite. The task was to design a launch page for a commemorative calculator that celebrates that milestone. The page had to feel like a collectible object, not a regular product page.
3. Goals
- Build a clear concept and visual direction for the brief.
- Create a fresh, cohesive and intuitive UI.
- Show strong hierarchy, colour, composition and typography.
- Tell a story through the layout and flow of one page.
4. My role, timeline and tools
- Role: sole designer, covering concept, visual design, UI and micro-interactions.
- Timeline: 7 days.
- Tools: Figma and Jitter for design and motion. ChatGPT for generating product imagery.
5. Understanding the brand and context
ISRO stands for precision and mission-driven engineering. Teenage Engineering is known for an industrial, tactile design language. The challenge was to combine the two without making the page feel like a generic space site.
6. The concept
Every space mission begins with calculations, and a calculator is where that starts. So the page follows a journey from mathematics and engineering, to launch, to orbit. It uses cinematic product views and a minimal editorial layout.
