Green Warrior Permaculture Launches the Field Trainer Internship for Permaculture Students

Green Warrior Permaculture, a permaculture collective committed to addressing sustainability issues facing our planet, recently launched the Field Trainer Internship for students. The collective comprises permaculture experts with years of experience setting up sustainability projects in various disaster zones worldwide.
More detailed information about this internship can be found at https://greenwarriorpermaculture.wordpress.com/2011/05/31/our-field-courses/
The newly launched internship is designed to allow students to upskill themselves and become permaculture trainers with valuable, on-field experience. It is one of the many initiatives established by Green Warrior Permaculture that focuses on priming permaculture trainers to provide solutions to the many problems faced by disadvantaged communities.
The internship announcement comes when many who possess permaculture certification seek practical, on-field training. According to The National Permaculture Institute, about 150,000 people have finished a certificate course in permaculture, with one-third of them hailing from the US.
The duration of the Field Trainer Internship is set at ten weeks. It will take place at the THK Field Academy in Ubud, Bali, and cost 3,500 AUD.
During the internship, students will learn about all aspects of project design and assist in various sustainable development endeavors. Students will also complete many small-scale projects during the internship.
For Green Warrior Permaculture, the main goal of the Field Trainer Internship is to help students develop the self-reliance needed to function in the difficult circumstances that permaculture specialists often find themselves in. Green Warrior Permaculture hopes this can be achieved by making students work on projects that help solve real community problems.
The internship’s emphasis on student participation in real-life projects is in line with the beliefs of Steve Cran, a community development specialist at Green Warrior Permaculture. “These are the skills in the field you can’t learn from books,” says Steve. “Getting your hands in the soil and working in real-life situations drives home the training to create the kind of people that can make a real impact in the field of aid,” he adds.
