Many readers use reading apps for different purposes like tracking their reading goals or discovering new books, etc. However, most of the present reading apps are one-dimensional and thus feel scattered and unmotivating. There are opinions and posts on social media about how the apps that recommend books are not personalized. It is mainly based on what others read and rate. While many readers would love to have reading goals, they generally hate challenges. Also, there is demand for apps where users can keep track of their notes from reading.

Readio is an intelligent reading companion app that lets book readers:

discover new books that suit their reading preferences and taste through chat with an AI.

organize books into different folders like reading, finished, etc.

track their reading time and goals easily.

have a place to save their favorite quotes from their books and also save their own thoughts.

The app is designed with neutral colors mostly and is minimalistic and distraction-free to support long usage.

During the MagicPath hackathon, I have prototyped the following features:

how users can discover books through chat,

how users can add books to their lists, and

how users can track their reading time and progress.

In the future, the next steps are to design the detailed book page better, where users can save their favorite quotes and write down their personal reflections.
