The Challenge

The client had a novel cryptocurrency, Qubitcoin, which used a complex quantum proof-of-work (qPoW) algorithm. Their mining was crippled by a CPU-only miner delivering a practically unusable ~10 H/s, leaving their high-end RTX 4090 GPU completely untapped. The goal: unlock that hardware and make Qubitcoin mining viable

Solution

This was a ground-up port, not a simple fix. I engineered a complete, GPU-native solution in three phases-
Algorithm Porting... I analyzed the existing C++ qhash algorithm to understand its quantum simulation logic. I then re-architected and rewrote it entirely in CUDA C++ to run on thousands of parallel GPU cores
Quantum Optimization... To handle the 16-qubit quantum circuit simulation (RY, RZ, CNOT gates), I integrated the NVIDIA cuQuantum SDK, specifically using cuStateVec for high-performance, GPU-accelerated quantum state vector operations
Pro-Miner Integration... I integrated this new CUDA module into the professional ccminer framework, turning it into a robust, reliable miner. The final delivery included a complete build system, solo-mining configuration, and clear documentation

The Impact

The results were immediate and transformative.
100x Performance Increase... Boosted mining speed from ~10 H/s (CPU) to over 1,000 H/s (RTX 4090)
Hardware Unlocked... The client's $1,600 GPU from a dormant piece of hardware into a high-performance mining machine.
Network Viability.... Enabled the first truly efficient GPU mining for the Qubitcoin network, making it a viable project for other miners
