Requirements Management for Rail Systems Engineering

The South-East Asian market for Rail Systems is booming. The investments in India and Singapore to the rail infrastructure and rail transportation solutions has brought the region into attention of the industry as the global key player.

The Client was engaged in delivering Automated People Mover to Singapore, at same time as with multiple strategic high-profile projects in India Delhi, Agra-Kanpur.

These projects needed extra efforts in Requirements Management, allowing record time certification and delivery to their respective clients.

Requirements Management for Rail Systems is very much driven by strict normative and regulative frameworks, which affect the whole development life-cycle and in particular which evidences this needs to produce to support the certification and authorization processes.

Involvement in RM in Rail requires insights to these aspects, as well as how the processes are defined, deployed and managed - as well as the systems engineering for Train System itself.

Part of this engagement was thus about supporting Client's Requirements Engineering efforts, while other part was about process and methodology advisory - paving the way and removing the future obstacles for a smooth certification (and fastest project in the history of the industry!).
