Video presentation Template Design for HeyGen

As part of my collaboration with HeyGen, a leading AI video creation platform, I was tasked with designing and improving various video templates for marketing, real estate, and financial services. The goal was to develop polished, contemporary templates that would help HeyGen’s clients quickly produce high-quality videos without needing cameras or studios.

HeyGen serves over 40,000 businesses worldwide, offering a template library across different video categories, including Training, Corporate, Marketing, Sales, Product Explainers, and How-To Videos.

In this project, my responsibilities included:

Designing on-brand, motion-ready video templates across multiple categories

Working within HeyGen’s brand guidelines while pushing the creative quality of each template

Creating internal presentations for various business teams, such as sales, marketing, and executive-facing materials

Collaborating with the internal design team to ensure visual cohesion across templates and presentations

HeyGen wanted to elevate its template library to provide users with high-quality, scalable templates that could cater to multiple industries. The challenge was to:

Maintain brand consistency while designing templates that would fit the diverse needs of clients in different sectors

Create templates that are not only visually appealing but also motion-friendly to meet the platform's video production capabilities

Work quickly and iteratively in a sprint-based environment while maintaining high-quality design standards

To ensure that I met the client's needs while adhering to their brand guidelines, I adopted the following approach:

Research & Understanding the Brand: I started by thoroughly reviewing HeyGen’s brand guidelines and existing templates. I made sure to understand the target audience for each video category and the design principles that would appeal to them.

Designing Templates: I worked on multiple templates, each designed with a specific video category in mind. For example, in the financial services category, I focused on a clean, professional look with muted warm tones to convey trust and reliability. The real estate templates emphasized bright, modern designs with a focus on the property and agent branding.

Collaboration & Feedback: I worked closely with the HeyGen design team to ensure that the templates were cohesive and aligned with the company’s goals. I incorporated feedback to improve the designs, ensuring they met the usability and aesthetic standards required for the platform.

Motion-Ready Design: Recognizing the importance of motion in the templates, I ensured that each design was optimized for smooth transitions and animations. I used motion-friendly elements and clean layouts that would translate well in video form.

Iterative Updates: I worked on several iterations based on internal feedback and testing, ensuring that each version improved upon the previous one.

Enhanced Template Library: The work resulted in multiple new, polished templates added to HeyGen’s template library. These templates were well-received by clients and helped set a new standard for what AI-generated video templates could look like.

Improved Client Engagement: HeyGen’s clients benefited from professional, visually appealing templates that could be customized quickly for their business needs, leading to better engagement and more efficient content creation.

Internal Presentation Design: In addition to video templates, I also created high-quality presentation materials for internal use. These presentations were aligned with the company’s visual identity and helped support business strategy, sales, and product storytelling.

HeyGen is an innovative AI platform that offers tremendous flexibility for creating studio-quality videos without the need for professional crews or equipment. Their focus on user-friendly tools and seamless integration made it easy to create video templates that could help businesses create polished marketing and product content quickly.

In this project, I was able to align my design expertise with HeyGen's mission to simplify and democratize video production. The collaboration not only allowed me to showcase my ability to design scalable and motion-friendly templates but also gave me the opportunity to contribute to a platform that empowers businesses across various industries.
