Who is Leo?

The former successful gymnast and student at the German Sport University Cologne, Leona Klein, has literally switched the gymnastics mat for the ice tube. The athlete from BSC Winterberg is currently undergoing training to become a bobsleigh pilot. Gathering rides and experiences is currently her motto. She describes the switch in sports as "a bit crazy."

I met Valentin Geringswald on the set of a commercial shoot for the German Cancer Aid. While I was responsible for lighting, Valentin was doing set photography. Having set up an 6 KW ARRI Sun on a crane we met trying to keep warm in the driver cabinet while waiting for shooting to wrap at that location.

During our chat, Valentin expressed his disdain for post-production and mentioned an upcoming shoot he had planned. We decided to collaborate on his project. As soon as filming concluded, Valentin handed over the raw footage, all captured on an FX3.

I delved into editing, aiming to craft a captivating video that captured the adrenaline and passion of the sport, particularly focusing on Leona Klein's story. Opting for a contrasty muted color grade and incorporating impactful sound effects, I meticulously shaped the footage. Valentin was thrilled with the final result. Additionally, I provided him with a shorter version tailored for social media distribution.
