Overview

Inspired by Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Stix collection, this project explores the fusion of beauty and digital art through the creation of 3D characters. Each character is designed to embody the unique shades from the Gloss Bomb Stix line—“Is it Fussy” (Dusty Pink), “Sorta Selfish” (Honey Brown), and “The MVP” (Blue Red)—reflecting the bold, glossy, and luxurious essence of the product line.

The goal of this project was to capture the high-shine finish and personality of each Gloss Bomb Stix shade, bringing them to life in a series of 3D character designs. These characters were developed to be part of an interactive, game-like experience that highlights the individuality of each color while maintaining a cohesive visual style.

“Is it Fussy” – Dusty Pink: This character exudes a soft, romantic energy with glossy, dreamy skin, delicate heart accents, and flowing features that complement the feminine shade of dusty pink.

“Sorta Selfish” – Honey Brown: A warm and confident character, adorned with golden honeycomb textures and a radiant glow. This character captures the rich and grounded essence of the honey brown shade.

“The MVP” – Blue Red: A fierce and powerful character with bold red lips, sharp edges, and a rebellious aura. The glossy finish and high-contrast design emphasize the boldness of the blue-red shade.

Design Approach

To maintain a cohesive aesthetic, the characters were developed with consistent lighting and a neutral background, allowing the vibrant shades and glossy textures to stand out. The design process emphasized high-shine effects to match the luxurious feel of the Gloss Bomb Stix line.

Interactive Presentation

The characters were showcased in a dynamic Instagram Reels format, mimicking a game-like selection experience. Smooth transitions between characters, enhanced by glossy textures and bold lighting, created an immersive and engaging visual experience.

DAZ3D: For base model creation.

ZBrush: For character customization and sculpting.

Cinema 4D: For animation, lighting, and rendering.

Substance: For texturing and glossy effects.

Result

This project resulted in a visually striking presentation that merges 3D art with beauty branding. Each character was designed to reflect Fenty Beauty’s innovative spirit, offering a fresh and artistic interpretation of their iconic Gloss Bomb Stix shades.
