Want to revolutionize the television experience with an ad-supported model that offers free access to premium smart TV content.
As a Product Designer, I'm at the forefront of crafting an enhanced TV acquisition journey, designing a mobile app that makes a TV accessible at no cost.
The launch was met with an overwhelming response. Within just seven days, we saw over 230,000 reservations—an astonishing rate of nearly one reservation every second. This engagement also translated into substantial revenue, earning more than $100,000 in the same period.
Challenge
Our mission at Telly went beyond just offering a service; it was about championing the democratization of quality entertainment. We aimed to empower users, giving them the keys to unlock a world of premium content with the simple act of signing up for our app to claim their free 4K smart TV.
In every message and interaction, I adopted a voice that resonated with our audience's diversity, ensuring that our mission was not just heard but felt. Our problem statements and tasks were articulated not as mere functional steps, but as milestones in our users' journey to a richer entertainment experience. This approach made the process relatable and inspiring, transforming functional transactions into engaging experiences that our users were eager to share and participate.
Constrains
Despite operating within the constraints of a stealth startup, the project's setting did not hinder our progress. The use of third-party agencies helped refine the user experience, and the careful crafting of user journeys and service blueprints allowed us to anticipate and design for our users' needs.
Features and journeys
The design of the app was a symphony of visuals and functionality. With a user interface that was both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional, the app reflected Telly's innovative spirit. I created user interface components that were crafted to ensure a seamless transition from the onboarding process, through navigating the waitlist, to the joy of unboxing their TV.
Bonus Track ⚡️
In addition to developing the app for user registration and waitlisting, our roadmap includes exciting new features designed to enhance the user experience further. As the product evolves, users will gain more features in the app. Like the ability to set up and personalize various widgets directly within the app, such as Weather, Stocks, Sports, and News.
This advancement reflects our commitment to not just meet but exceed user expectations, offering a sneak peek into the innovative functionalities that await our audience. Stay tuned for these updates, as they promise to redefine how users interact with their Telly, making it a truly tailored and engaging entertainment experience.
