Zoner: A Telemedicine Mobile & Web Platform

Zoner is a revolutionary telemedicine platform designed to transform healthcare in Africa. As a UX designer on this project, I undertook the challenge of understanding the diverse needs of patients, doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies to create an inclusive and user-friendly app.

Discovery and Research
To ensure the app catered to the needs of all users, I created personas for each user group:
Patients could use the app for consultations, diagnoses, prescriptions, medication ordering, reading/submitting blogs, leaving reviews, and accessing their comprehensive medical histories.
Doctors could provide consultations, diagnoses, prescriptions, patient record management, blogging, and access patient medical histories.
Hospitals could manage patient records, track medication orders, receive payments for services, generate reports, provide detailed department information, and include price lists for services.
Pharmacies could receive orders for medication, fulfil orders, track deliveries, generate reports, display medication information, and receive user ratings.
Design Process
I developed wireframes and prototypes incorporating these features, ensuring the interface was user-friendly and intuitive. User testing was conducted to gather feedback and iterate on the designs, improving usability and functionality. Additionally, I created user journey maps and detailed user flows for each user group to ensure a seamless experience.
Wireframing
The Zoner mobile app's UI design process started with basic wireframes that outlined the app's structure and features. These were refined using user feedback and design principles, evolving into high-fidelity wireframes resembling the final product.
User Interface Design
To maintain consistency, a comprehensive design system and style guide were developed, including design tokens like colours, typography, and component styles. Adhering to these guidelines ensured a cohesive, elegant, and user-friendly interface.
The final UI design featured a clean, intuitive layout with a focus on accessibility. A calming, professional colour palette and clear typography were used, highlighting key features and information while keeping additional functionality easily accessible.
The Admin
I designed an admin section for the Zoner mobile app with a clean, professional layout for easy navigation and control. It provided an overview of app activity, allowing administrators to manage user registrations, consultations, medication orders, and hospital and pharmacy data efficiently. The design aligned with the main app's visual identity and was organised to highlight key data and controls for effective app management.
