Loot - Fintech App

Loot was a bank made specifically for gamers. Its main objective was to help gamers save money and help them improve their financial health.

Loot was actually supposed to be Loot Bank. After gaining some experience and know-how in the fintech realm I was brought to come up with a custom-made fintech app for gamers. The challenge was to catch gamers' attention and of course their trust. Gamers are very jealous and careful with what they use or buy but they can also be extremely messy when it comes to financial decisions. Without a doubt, the look and feel of the product had to be something hacky and gamer-like.

The Home Screen is banking classic stuff except for two elements. On the top-right corner, there is a Rewards count where users can see how much have they earned so far & below the main overlay, there is a progress bar that represents the status of a savings goal they’ve established. This app had a major flaw from a business point of view which was the enormous amount of transactions that you needed to process in order to reach breakeven.

So we decided to embed an entire e-commerce store inside the app right there in the tab bar to promote and facilitate our gamers users to buy their favorite gaming stuff directly from us with their own Loot account.

It was interesting how I started thinking exclusively on a financial app but then the gaming store took protagonism as well. Actually, it was like designing two products at the same time. The product itself is the best weapon to eye-catch gamers’ attention so let’s take leverage out of that. The challenge shifted to figuring out how to combine the best attributes of gaming and banking in the same place.
