Traxl is a family location-sharing app for Android, built natively in Kotlin and published on Google Play. A family, a group of friends or a crew forms a Circle and sees everyone on one live map, with arrive and leave alerts for the places that matter and an SOS button that reaches the whole Circle at once. Private by design, with no ads and no selling of location data. Live at https://www.traxl.in
The problem
Existing family trackers are subscription-heavy, drain the battery, and treat teenagers either like adults or like suspects. Families wanted one map, dependable alerts for school and home, and a panic button that still works when the network is poor, without an ad company watching every move.
What I built
Circle tracking: create a Circle, invite up to five people, and see everyone's live location on a single map
Place alerts: mark home, school or work and get told when someone arrives or leaves, with quiet hours so nobody is woken at 1am
One-tap SOS that broadcasts the exact location to the whole Circle and pushes an alert straight to their phones
Trip reports: distance, top speed, halts and time on the move for any member, a full day on one screen without extra hardware
Works offline: the route keeps recording in a tunnel or a village and uploads the moment a signal returns
Built for teens, safely: 13 to 17 year olds join only through an invite a parent confirms, are never shown personalised ads, and can see exactly who is in their Circle
