With my NYU graduate journalism student mentee Jennifer Taylor, I co-authored a story for CBS News about a successful racial reconciliation program between a Black and white church. The two Illinois congregations took on the structured discussion program based on Latasha Morrison's book, "Be the Bridge," after painful vandalism at their shared worship space in the wake of George Floyd's murder. I provided editing and mentorship to help shape Jennifer's original reporting, and wrote several sections of the piece. We were honored Jennifer's sources shared their painful but important stories with us, and our sources were grateful we could share their work on a national level.
