I worked closely with the author to bring her vision to life. She had a lot of content, but was unsure how best to structure it, to provide a cohesive flow of ideas and information. I reviewed all the material, broke it up into logical sections, and created a flat plan for the book. I then recommended a graphic designer, who used the flat plan to create the overall look and feel for the journal and who provided a maximum word count for each page. Once I had these, I cut the copy to fit each section and gave direction on visual elements to be added, such as the example pages in the image below. Where required, I also wrote additional linking copy to flow one section into the next.
