BetaBank – Fintech Mobile App and Website

Project Overview

Betabank is more than a fintech app. It’s a bold answer to Nigeria’s most ignored banking pain points. While traditional banks fumble with clunky UIs and slow dispute resolution, Betabank features offer human-centred, low-data, culturally resonant solution built for real people.
I worked on the full product experience, from mobile app designs to a responsive, on-brand Framer website that presents a better, smarter, and more relatable banking experience for Nigerians.

The Challenge

In Nigeria, many people open their banking apps hoping for ease but sometimes instead face slow load times, high data Usage and zero help when transactions fail. The apps crash on poor networks, customer complaints go unresolved, and users are left with generic dashboards that don’t reflect their financial reality. The goal was to make finance feel more human and accessible through a lightweight app built for low connectivity environments. Balancing low data performance with modern UX, AI driven financial guidance, and transparent dispute resolution required simple, conversational, and localised user flows.

Understanding the Users

Before building BetaBank, I needed to step into the shoes of everyday Nigerians navigating the frustrations of digital banking.
I began with a Google Forms survey, reaching 50 participants from Lagos, Abuja, and Ibadan. For qualitative depth, I conducted interviews with selected participants in rural towns with patchy 2G connections, uncovering insights that numbers alone could not reveal.
Using Likert scale questions, I measured how often they faced failed transfers, how much data banking apps consumed, and how satisfied they were with dispute resolution. The results were telling: frustration was the norm, not the exception.
From these findings, I developed three user personas that guided every design decision.
Outcome
Designed 85+ screens.
Built & launched a full Framer site.
Created a strong UX foundation for development.
Maintained brand clarity across web and app.
