Chatbot Experience - Nivea "Cocoa Shades" Personalized

For Nivea’s “Cocoa Shades” campaign, I developed a conversational chatbot that brought a personalized touch to users’ skincare experience via WhatsApp. The bot’s main role was to interact naturally with users, guiding them through a simple selfie submission. Using AI-powered image analysis, it assessed each person’s unique skin tone by examining their selfie.

Once the skin tone was identified, the bot created a custom Pantone-style color swatch image that matched their complexion perfectly. This image was designed for easy sharing on social media, helping to spread the campaign organically through user engagement.

Technically, I built the conversation flow using PHP to handle user interactions and logic. To handle image processing, storage, and messaging, I integrated several AWS services. For example, AWS Rekognition was used to analyze the selfies, and AWS S3 stored the images securely. The IMGix API was leveraged to generate and customize the color swatch images dynamically. For message delivery and bot-user communication on WhatsApp, I used Infobip’s messaging platform, ensuring timely and reliable exchanges.

Overall, this project blended AI, cloud services, and conversational design to deliver a seamless, interactive experience that was both engaging and visually appealing. It gave users a fun, personalized moment while aligning perfectly with Nivea’s branding goals.
