✦ Redesign Challenge — iPad App for Hospital Workflow Apple Developer Academy Technical Design Test
This conceptual project was part of a technical design challenge for the Apple Developer Academy. I was tasked with improving the usability and visual design of a fictitious iPad app used by nurses and doctors to manage patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Project Goal Redesign at least three high-fidelity screens to enhance clarity, accessibility, and speed — particularly in tasks like patient identification, form completion, and emergency requests. The new version also had to integrate a virtual assistant powered by AI to support users.
My Role I handled the entire UX/UI process, including research, ideation, interface design, and documentation — all within a 5-day sprint.
Process Overview ✔ Heuristic Evaluation of the existing prototype ✔ User Research: script-based interviews and persona context ✔ CSD Matrix to identify Certainties, Assumptions, and Doubts ✔ User Flow redesign ✔ New visual language and component library in Figma ✔ A/B Testing proposal ✔ Accessibility and HIG (Apple) guidelines applied ✔ Final prototype: 3+ screens in high fidelity (iPad format)
Outcomes The result is a clean, structured interface guided by empathy and logic. It supports a conversational AI (“Vita”) to assist with repetitive tasks and enhances user confidence in high-pressure medical contexts.
This was a solo, non-commercial challenge designed to showcase my ability to solve UX problems with method, clarity, and creativity.
