As designers we tend to find ourselves lost in our work feeling isolated and pressured to meet strict deadlines. But, what if you could collaborate to design with the freedom and spirit of your high school garage band? Fueled by the passion of your dad’s ZZ Top cover group. That was the main idea circulating our minds as we brainstormed for this project. In the end, our goal was to design something with these same values: freedom, collaboration, passion and fun.

The format of this project was inspired by 36 Days of Type with our focus solely on the 26 letters of the alphabet. For 26 days, we worked on designing 26 compositions based on a starting font and a design term. Each would begin with the letter of that day. The goal wasn't to design around the term, but instead, to let the term influence our process. All assets would be shared, collectively used, and remixed. We also added featured artists to participate in the same spirit of musical collaboration. Finally, we utilized our respective Instagram networks to help us choose the final designs for each letter. Each step along the way has helped us realize the power of design in creating a harmonious community.
