Album Artwork for a Rising Pop Artist

In 2023, I worked with up-and-coming pop artist Marilyn Hucek on the visual design for her new EP, "Love and Loss." We worked together to land on a concept that was minimalist, but bold to build on her brand as an artist.

I worked with Marilyn on several iterations of cover artwork for the EP. In our initial conversations, we landed on a photo-based cover, using photos from a recent shoot with photographer Elisabeth Donaldson. I listened to the EP throughout the initial creative process to see what ideas I'd be able to generate from the music itself. Below are a few of the early drafts I came up with:

After a review of the artwork drafts, we decided on the second design as it worked well with her bold minimalist brand. After a few tweaks, I was able to return with what would be the final design for the cover artwork:
