One of the largest care organization in the United States operates 39 hospitals and 700 medical offices with over 300,000 personnel. Unit-based teams engage in “huddles”, a daily standup meeting with the goal of assessing day-to-day issues and advancing performance improvement projects. Tracking of these issues before and after a huddle meeting are often scattered across multiple systems(physically and digitally). On top of that, getting a full picture of outstanding issues requires a great deal of the staff’s time, energy, and resources and contributes to less effective and efficient care. Our team started to think about how to streamline the huddle experience and transform it into a continuous positive feedback loop.
