D&AD BBC Bitesize Design

This project was ran by the BBC through the D&AD New Bloods Awards. The D&AD awards are the most prestigious benchmark for creative excellence in design and advertising. This was my entry for March 2022. The brief was centred around the idea of re-branding the BBC Bitesize website for ‘every child' based on the information we have in 2022 with the affects of the pandemic and other factors. I started the project researching the affects the pandemic placed on children ages 11-16. From NHS reports that “54.1% of 11-16 year olds say lock down had made their life worse”. I wanted to develop something that I saw the BBC Bitesize website was lacking. I designed a wellness app that would be inclusive of every child aimed at 11-16 year olds. I wanted this to be used in form or tutorial time for students to document their achievements as well as their emotions, ranging from worries because of exams to issues surrounding their friends and families.
