Interactive map visualization with Javascript Apache Echarts.js library.
The project of representing the parties of indigenous peoples in the countries and areas of the world.
Initially, a JSON file was provided with a description of the indigenous peoples of the world: the name of the nationality, country, number, region.
There was a task to create an interactive map of the distribution of nationalities by areas.
For this project, I created an interactive map with two work modes: 1. The effect of a heat card, which is activated at a certain level of zoom. It displays the dense of the indigenous population and its distribution throughout the country or region. 2. The color adjustment of the regions of countries depending on the number of indigenous population in them.
For this project was used Apache Echarts.js library, which allows you to create very diverse graphs and, using JavaScript, create a very diverse and rich ways to display cartographic data.
For the server side, was found a Geojson map of all areas of the world, compressed to the desired detail, and used together with the initial JSON data about indigenous peoples to draw a map and information on top of it.
To convert Geojson data to the desired format was used the Python Geopandas tool.
