When revamping your resume you have to think of your goals, future plans, what your current skillset is, and what you want out of this resume.
Begin with looking at your current resume, see what works and what does not with your new career goals. If you have kept an updated resume throughout your current career it will help you more with the project. By regularly updating your resume it will help with record keeping and also ensure it is ready for submission or view by others.
How to revamp your resume:
Add more information to your sections that appear short or do not give a full background of your roles.
Omit irrelevant or old experience:
If you have old information that does not pertain to what your current role or future roles are, it no longer fits and is unnecessary information. Also look at education when doing this.
Change the layout and font:
Resumes have come a long way since we first started creating them. Experiment with fonts, layouts, and colors to give yourself a good professional standing yet brings out yourself in it.
Update the file name:
When all changes are made, you want to update the file name so it is known that this is the most recent version of your resume.
Remember to include:
Name and contact information
Employment history
Skills
Education
Generic objectives
Finally, make sure the details on the resume pertain to what you want your future role to want. When hiring managers are looking at resumes, they look for keywords that are relevant to the position they currently have open.
