Overview
Gluchol is a health-focused mobile application that helps users scan foods, analyze products, review restaurant menus, and track daily health indicators.
I was brought in to review the backend, database, and mobile app together, then implement the fixes required to make the affected flows work reliably across the full product experience.

The Challenge
Recent backend and integration changes had introduced inconsistencies between the mobile app, backend logic, and stored data.
These issues affected important parts of the experience, including:
subscription upgrade flow
ad unlock behavior
navigation and screen transitions
subscription management behavior on iOS and Android
save actions that required double taps
general consistency between app state and backend state
The goal was not only to audit the system, but to identify the root causes, implement the fixes, and verify that the affected functionality worked correctly in release-ready builds.
What I Handled
I worked across the technical stack to review and stabilize the product:
reviewed the current backend code and recent changes
reviewed database structure and subscription state handling
reviewed the mobile app and its integration with backend services
identified inconsistencies between backend, database, and app behavior
fixed subscription and ad-related flows
verified the affected functionality across iOS and Android
Connecting mobile features and backend functionality.
Key Fixes Delivered
The scope included both the technical review and the implementation of the fixes.
Main fixes included:
ensuring the subscription upgrade flow works correctly
resolving reported ad loading and ad unlock issues
improving navigation behavior on affected screens
ensuring subscription management correctly redirects subscribed users on both iOS and Android
fixing the issue where some save actions required users to tap twice
verifying the updated functionality in release-distributed builds
Outcome
This work helped turn a set of fragmented technical issues into a more stable and reliable product experience.
Instead of stopping at diagnosis, the project included the implementation and verification required to make the affected functionality work as intended across backend, database, and mobile layers.
The result was a cleaner integration between the app and the system behind it, with more reliable behavior for subscriptions, ad unlocks, saved actions, and user flows.
