Traditional event ticketing systems are criticized for being vulnerable to fraudulent activities, which has caused concerns for both event attendees and organizers. However, the emergence of blockchain technology and NFTs have provided an opportunity to create secure, verifiable, and exclusive digital assets, offering a potential solution to these challenges.

Venta aims to revolutionize event ticketing by leveraging blockchain technology and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to provide a secure, unique, and engaging experience for both event attendees and organizers.

Research I conducted for Venta included exploring current event ticketing systems, user experiences, and new trends in blockchain and NFT technology. As the lead designer, I aimed to identify pain points in traditional ticketing, understand user expectations, and assess the feasibility of integrating blockchain and NFTs into the event ticketing.

Key Takeaways from the research conducted were;

Security Concerns: Users expressed a heightened need for secure and verifiable event tickets to ensure the authenticity of their purchases.

Desire for Exclusive Experiences: Event attendees sought more than just a ticket; they desired exclusive experiences that set their event participation apart.

Once I had gathered all this information, it was time to translate them into practical ideas that the users will enjoy.

Integration with cryptocurrency wallets to authorize access to users attending tokengated events.

Event Dashboard where organizers can efficiently manage events, real-time ticket tracking and in-depth analytics.

Push notifications keep attendees informed with event updates, reminders, and exclusive offers.

I created a seamless sign-up process that ensures users cryptocurrency wallets are linked to their Venta Accounts.

Users are able to explore all the events available in the app, events can be filtered by categories

Users will be able to register and attend events listed on the Venta app, in the case of an event being tokengated, users wallets will be scanned to verify the validity of the NFT in their wallet.

Although my vision was to create a community for decentralized enthusiasts, I discovered that there were a few obstacles that impacted the creation of Venta.

Mass adaptation of this type of technology requires more simplified education of web3 terminologies. I noticed how a number of Venta’s potential users did not grasp how the solution I was building worked.

User feedback is very essential when creating any application or website, it is important to conduct usability testing to gain insights on how the users feel about your product and to make necessary refinements that cater to users needs.

In order to foster community engagement, the next iteration of Venta will be rolled out with a social feature that allows users share event and ticket purchases.
