The Financial Takeoff was a Webflow development project for a financial planning firm that wanted to feel more personal, approachable, and human than the typical financial services website.
The brand is built around a simple idea: financial planning should not feel intimidating or transactional. It should help people understand their options, feel more confident about their future, and build a plan around the life they actually want to live.
My role was to translate that direction into a polished, responsive Webflow experience that could communicate trust while still handling a large amount of detailed financial information.

Turning a warm visual direction into a functional website

The existing visual direction already had a distinctive personality. The olive green, cream, and gold palette created a warmer alternative to the cold blues and corporate imagery commonly used by financial firms.
Lifestyle photography also played an important role. Instead of focusing exclusively on charts, numbers, and investment portfolios, the website connects financial planning with families, relationships, retirement, travel, health, and the freedom to spend more time doing what matters.
My responsibility was to preserve that feeling throughout the Webflow build while making sure the website remained structured, readable, and easy to navigate.

Organizing a complex financial service

The biggest challenge was not simply building the pages. It was presenting a broad range of financial services without overwhelming the visitor.
The Financial Takeoff helps clients with retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, investment management, stock compensation, insurance, education funding, and planning for business owners. The website needed to communicate that depth while still giving visitors a clear path forward.
I developed the site around a focused journey: understand the firm’s philosophy, meet the people behind it, explore the planning process, review the services and pricing, learn from the educational content, and finally schedule a conversation.
The homepage introduces the company through its values before moving into detailed financial information. This creates a more natural experience than immediately presenting visitors with a long list of services.

Explaining The Ascent System

An important part of the project was presenting the company’s five-step planning process, called The Ascent System.
This section needed to explain a detailed client journey that includes the initial conversation, proposal, financial exploration, plan delivery, and ongoing implementation. I developed the page so each phase could be understood individually while still feeling like part of one connected process.
Information covering income, cash flow, taxes, investments, insurance, and estate planning was carefully separated into clear sections. The hierarchy, spacing, and visual rhythm help visitors move through a large amount of content without the page feeling heavy.

Creating a platform for financial education

Education is a major part of The Financial Takeoff’s positioning. The website therefore needed to work as more than a brochure for its services.
I structured the educational content, free guides, articles, and recurring resources so they could be managed and expanded through Webflow. Visitors can access practical material about retirement, tax planning, stock compensation, business ownership, and other financial topics before deciding whether they are ready for a personal conversation.
Lead-generation forms were integrated throughout the experience for guides, updates, and meeting requests. These forms are positioned as helpful next steps rather than aggressive sales prompts, which better matches the firm’s relationship-focused approach.

Responsive Webflow development

I built and refined the website across desktop, tablet, and mobile, paying close attention to typography, image cropping, content order, navigation, forms, and longer educational sections.
Because the website contains a significant amount of written information, responsive typography and spacing were especially important. Each breakpoint needed to remain comfortable to read without losing the visual character of the desktop design.
Interactions were kept subtle and purposeful. Rather than filling the website with unnecessary motion, I used transitions and movement to support the storytelling, introduce content, and make the overall experience feel more polished.

The final result

The finished website gives The Financial Takeoff a digital presence that feels credible without becoming distant or overly corporate.
It allows visitors to understand the company’s philosophy, explore its services and process, access educational resources, and schedule a meeting through one connected experience. More importantly, the website reflects the human side of financial planning and the long-term relationships the firm wants to build with its clients.
The result is a warm, content-rich Webflow website that turns a complex financial service into something clearer, more personal, and easier to approach.
