Lacey Does — Personal Brand & Murals Platform
Overview
Lacey Does is the personal brand website for Lacey Hennessey — muralist, artist, designer, and creative collaborator. The site was designed to function as both a visual-first murals platform and a flexible brand ecosystem supporting collaborations, licensing, speaking, learning content, and a curated shop.
Unlike a traditional portfolio, the site needed to feel alive, personality-forward, and community-driven, reflecting how Lacey already uses social media as a storytelling and discovery tool.
Problem
Most artist websites either feel overly minimal (losing personality) or overly cluttered (burying the work). The challenge was to create a site that feels bold, maximalist, and confident without becoming chaotic — while making it immediately clear:
Who Lacey is
That murals are the primary offering
How different audiences can work with her
The experience needed to balance entertainment and clarity, serving cities, schools, hospitality groups, brands, event organizers, and fans — all in one cohesive system.
Approach
The design prioritises murals above everything else, using strong imagery, confident framing, and high contrast to let large-scale work dominate the experience. Editorial layout principles were used to keep the site clean and legible, even with a vibrant colour palette and expressive typography.
Key design decisions included:
A “Lacey Does: ___” narrative system to reinforce brand voice and versatility
Bold typography paired with a clean secondary font for balance
Organic shapes and subtle texture as a nod to maximalism without clutter
Intentional, restrained motion to enhance storytelling rather than distract
Clear segmentation of offerings (murals, design, collabs, speaking, shop) without flattening them into a traditional grid
Navigation and content structure were designed to guide visitors from inspiration → understanding → action, with murals unmistakably positioned as the hero.
Outcome
The final site presents Lacey as a creative brand, not just an artist with a portfolio. It clearly communicates her range of work while maintaining a strong, consistent identity rooted in murals. The result is a flexible platform that supports client conversion, community growth, and long-term brand expansion — without sacrificing personality or visual impact.
