The Royal Standard: Bath Collection
The Royal Standard introduces a new bath collection every year. These products are ideal for Galentine's Day gifting or as a relaxing treat for any bath enthusiast. This collection celebrates the whimsical charm of macarons, incorporating their best-selling "Champagne Pop" design. Each macaron was digitally illustrated in a watercolor style, echoing the aesthetic of the champagne pattern. The packaging was designed with functionality in mind, featuring clearly listed ingredients, essential safety warnings, and barcodes for efficient inventory management and sales.
A Look at the process of this project:
This project began with a thorough review of the existing bath collection's labeling. To optimize production costs, we aimed to replace the gold foil with a spot color. In collaboration with the production team, I developed a mood board featuring a palette of pinks, whites, and reds to guide the redesign. Macarons and rosé bottles were incorporated into the mood board, visually clarifying the project's thematic direction.
Utilizing Procreate's digital watercolor brushes, I crafted detailed macaron illustrations in the project's designated pink palette.
The 'Champagne Pop' pattern, a top performer, was reinterpreted in pink and red tones to complement the macaron theme, achieving a rosé aesthetic. After presenting initial designs, I created physical mockups using printed copy paper and assembled packaging for the production review. We also reviewed scent samples and chose a combination of vanilla and almond fragrance. Additionally, development continued on a re-release for the Christmas bath collection.
Due to budget constraints and minimum order requirements, we reduced the product line. The final selection included two bath fizzers, four types of bath confetti poppers with a display case, and three bottles of bubble bath. Each product was revised before the press-ready files were sent to the supplier.
