Client Brief: The project required a hyper-realistic soundscape to accompany a high-speed 3D animation of a Rolex watch passing through condensation. The challenge was to emphasize precision, elegance, and performance, aligning the audio with the brand's luxury identity.
Concept-Driven Sound Design Approach: For this project, I developed a concept that captured the interplay between speed, motion, and the refined craftsmanship of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.

Sound Design Process:
Initial Research & Analysis:
Studied the animation frame-by-frame to identify key moments where sound could enhance visual storytelling.
Researched the acoustic properties of condensation, airflow, and mechanical precision to ensure realism.
Layered Sound Elements:
High-Speed Motion: Designed a custom airflow sound inspired by wind tunnel recordings, layered with subtle doppler effects to highlight the speed of the watch's movement.
Condensation Impact: Used granular synthesis to create the sound of droplets hitting a metallic surface, mimicking condensation interaction at high velocity.
Mechanical Precision: Incorporated subtle ticking and micro-mechanical sounds to emphasize the craftsmanship of the watch.
Blending & Mastering:
Carefully balanced the layers to ensure a harmonious blend that supported the animation without overpowering it.
Applied professional mastering techniques to achieve a polished, cinematic audio experience.
Final Deliverable: The resulting sound design brought the Rolex animation to life, reinforcing the themes of luxury, precision, and performance. The hyper-realistic sound of the watch passing through condensation complemented the visuals, creating an unforgettable sensory experience.
Impact: This sound design not only enhanced the animation but also demonstrated how audio can elevate brand storytelling. It helped convey Rolex’s essence of timeless sophistication while showcasing my ability to create concept-driven, bespoke soundscapes.
