What might Julius Caesar have looked like in real life?

VICI is an AI reconstruction inspired by Andrea Ferrucci’s Julius Caesar, a marble portrait made around 1512–14, now in The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I imagined the figure as a living man posing in a white photographic studio. Natural skin, worn bronze armour and burgundy wool translate the sculpture’s features into physical materials. Close details, restrained gestures and cinematic camera movements build toward the final portrait, which cuts back to the original sculpture.

The film draws its character and visual identity from Ferrucci’s Renaissance interpretation of Caesar. The original museum photograph appears in the final reveal, connecting the imagined person to the artwork that inspired him.
