This custom-built Inventory Management App was designed to streamline and automate inventory tracking for a small business, specifically an ice cream shop. The tool was developed using a combination of Excel, VBA, and SQL (with options for MS Access DB or Azure Cloud SQL for production). It allows the business to efficiently manage their inventory, track product usage transactions, and maintain accurate stock levels in real-time.
The app incorporates several key features, including master data management, transaction data logging, barcode integration for quick item lookup, and automated calculations of active inventory based on transaction history. With a user-friendly interface, the tool enables users to perform tasks such as adding single or multiple transactions, viewing transaction history, and generating location-based inventory reports—all from a simple dashboard.
Additionally, the app integrates with barcode scanners to facilitate instant item lookups and transactions. The production version is designed to run on Azure Cloud SQL for scalability and reliability, while the development version connects to an MS Access database. This solution significantly reduces manual data entry errors and ensures that inventory levels are always up-to-date, supporting better decision-making and operational efficiency.
