Tennis Circle Complete Visual Identity

Overview

I created several logo design directions and a complete branding and visual identity system for a tennis circle. The work balanced the energy of the sport with a clean, recognizable visual presence, creating an identity that can feel confident, adaptable, and consistent across the circle's digital and physical touchpoints.
Each direction considered the personality of a tennis circle, from movement and precision to community and competition. I explored different compositions, type treatments, symbols, and color relationships to develop marks that work clearly at both large and small sizes.

Logo Exploration

The project began with a range of visual directions rather than settling immediately on a single mark. This exploration created space to test distinct brand expressions, including minimal, contemporary concepts alongside logo options with stronger sporting character.
The design process considered how the logo could communicate the circle's identity at a glance while remaining flexible enough to use across social content, event materials, apparel, signage, and other brand applications.
Key areas explored included:
Custom logo concepts for a tennis circle
Tennis-inspired symbols, forms, and visual cues
Modern and legible typography choices
Icon, wordmark, and combined-mark variations
Color directions that support an active sports identity
Scalable logo construction for print and digital use
Clear visual recognition across different formats

Complete Branding & Visual Identity

Alongside the logo development, I created a broader visual identity to give the circle a coherent system for future communication. The identity direction brought together the core logo, typography, color, layout principles, and supporting visual elements so the brand can appear consistent wherever members and visitors encounter it.
The system was designed to work across both expressive and practical applications, including circle communications, social media, event promotions, merchandise, printed materials, and signage. This creates a flexible foundation that keeps the circle recognizable while allowing content to adapt to different moments in the calendar.
The visual identity included:
Primary logo and alternate logo directions
Icon, wordmark, and badge-style variations
Brand color direction
Typography selection and hierarchy
Supporting graphic and layout direction
Social media and promotional application concepts
Brand-ready visual assets for digital and print use

Visual Identity Direction

The identity was refined around clarity and consistency, considering the relationship between typography, color, iconography, and spacing. The aim was to create a logo and brand foundation that could grow into a cohesive circle identity without losing its immediate connection to tennis.
A logo needs to hold its shape when used as a profile image or small icon, while also having enough presence for posters, membership materials, circle apparel, and larger-format graphics. The visual system was developed with that range of use in mind.

Design Process

The logo and identity concepts were developed in Figma and Adobe Photoshop, with Canva used to test presentation and application directions. This workflow made it possible to compare the options clearly and assess how each concept could appear in real circle-facing materials.
The process included:
Researching visual references within sport and lifestyle branding
Creating multiple initial logo drafts
Exploring icon, wordmark, and badge-style compositions
Refining typography and spacing for readability
Defining a color and visual identity direction
Testing color and monochrome logo variations
Reviewing scalability across digital and print contexts
Preparing presentation-ready identity concepts
