"Mission & Co." was conceived with a clear set of values and goals: to deliver the highest quality cannabis products with a primary focus on flower and solventless SKUs. The brand's name itself evoked a sense of adventure and exploration, inspired by NASA's pioneering spirit.
Brand Direction:
The brand direction was deeply rooted in this spirit of exploration. The retro NASA theme not only paid homage to the brand's name but also served as an apt analogy for the cannabis industry. Much like space exploration, the cannabis industry was in its nascent stage, with uncharted territories and evolving regulations. "Mission & Co." positioned itself as a trailblazer, forging new paths and setting the standards in this emerging field.

Packaging Design Challenges and Solutions:
Launching "Mission & Co." in the cannabis industry came with its unique set of challenges, particularly regarding packaging design. Stricter regulations imposed restrictions on several design elements, including opaque jars, warning labels, and minimum font sizes. Overcoming these hurdles while maintaining the brand's identity and client education was paramount.
Regulatory Compliance:
To meet regulatory requirements, the packaging design team had to navigate the intricacies of opaque jar limitations, ensuring that the product remained compliant while still offering an attractive presentation. Additionally, incorporating mandatory warning labels without detracting from the overall aesthetics was a delicate balance that was successfully achieved.
Client Education through Packaging:
One innovative approach was to use the packaging as a primary source of client education. This involved the use of elements such as pull-out leaflets and dual-sided stickers. Every inch of available space was utilized to convey essential information to customers, enhancing their understanding of "Mission & Co." products, their benefits, and usage guidelines.
Creative Utilization of Space:
To maximize the effectiveness of packaging, every free space was utilized strategically. This not only served as a means of compliance but also enhanced the overall customer experience. It allowed "Mission & Co." to stand out in a crowded market while ensuring that customers were well-informed about the products they were purchasing.
In summary, the packaging design for "Mission & Co." successfully overcame regulatory challenges by embracing innovation and leveraging available space for client education. The result was packaging that not only met compliance standards but also enhanced the brand's identity and customer engagement.
