Modern Heritage Apparel Brand Identity & Art Direction

Aulen is a modern clothing brand built around the idea of timeless dressing with a contemporary edge. The brief was to create an identity that could feel established and heritage led, while remaining clean, wearable and relevant for a modern fashion audience.
The identity centres around a distinctive A monogram, shaped with a fluid internal curve that gives the mark a crafted, recognisable character. Paired with a bold serif wordmark, the logo system balances tradition with a more modern, fashion-focused presence.
The visual direction was developed around the concept “Heritage, Recut.” A world of deep navy, warm ivory, forest green, textured knitwear, aged wood, natural stone and quiet editorial photography. Rather than presenting heritage as something formal or dated, Aulen reframes it through refined everyday clothing designed to feel confident, understated and lasting.
The brand system was extended across embroidered apparel, woven labels, hang tags, packaging, leather and metal garment details, retail stationery, tote bags, e-commerce touchpoints and campaign imagery for the collection concept, The First Chapter.
Every application was designed to show how Aulen could live beyond the logo: on the chest of a knitted polo, inside the collar of a sweater, stamped into leather, carried through packaging and experienced as a complete premium clothing brand.

Designed to be Worn

The monogram becomes Aulen’s quiet signature: embroidered into knitwear, applied to everyday staples and recognised through restraint rather than repetition. Each application was designed to feel part of the garment, not placed on top of it.

Identity in the details

For a clothing brand, recognition is built as much inside the garment as outside it.
Aulen’s identity extends into woven labels, leather stamping, engraved hardware and finishing details, creating a brand experience that is tactile, considered and made to be discovered up close.

The First Chapter

A launch campaign built around everyday classics, quiet surroundings and clothing that feels lived in from the first wear. Rather than presenting heritage through formality, the campaign places Aulen in moments of calm confidence: an estate doorway, a coastal walk, a reading room, a slow morning outdoors.
