A. Project Objectives:

In this project, I focused on extracting detailed hotel information from Agoda, a major online travel agency, to analyze accommodation options in various destinations. The primary goal was to gather data on hotel names, prices, ratings, and locations to assist in developing a comprehensive overview of the hospitality market.

B. Tools and Technologies:

I utilized Selenium with Python to automate the process of interacting with Agoda’s website. Selenium enabled me to simulate user behavior, such as searching for hotels in specific locations, navigating through multiple pages, and dynamically loading content that is not immediately available in the HTML source code. BeautifulSoup was used in conjunction with Selenium to efficiently parse the HTML and extract relevant data.

C. Methodology:

During the scraping process, I specifically targeted elements such as hotel names, pricing information, user ratings, and geographical locations by identifying them with unique attributes, such as data-selenium tags. To handle potential issues like missing data, I incorporated conditional checks to ensure robustness in the data collection process.

D. Output Data:

The collected data is stored in a data frame structured format, ready for analysis and visualization. This data will contribute to market research reports, helping stakeholders understand pricing trends, customer preferences, and regional availability in the hotel industry.
