Smart Systems for Mongolia's Transition to Renewables

Though Mongolia currently relies on coal and other countries to supply energy, this course examined the next steps Mongolia could take to incorporate more renewables into energy system without major changes to infrastructure. Our team recommended the use of a "smart" grid as a key next step. We also recommended ways to share this information with the community.

The study was developed from site visits to power plants in Mongolia, lectures from energy experts in the region, literature review, oral storytelling, and contextual group interviews with community members.
