6ix Watchlist Feature Launch Video

Overview

6ix needed a product-focused launch video that would introduce their Watchlist feature while clearly communicating a key benefit: users could seamlessly access and manage data from all the companies they cared about across both desktop and mobile experiences in one place.

The Challenge

Product feature announcements often struggle to balance education and engagement. A straightforward screen recording can demonstrate functionality, but it rarely captures attention or reinforces the broader product experience.
For the Watchlist launch, the objective was to:
Highlight the feature in an engaging way
Demonstrate that the feature works across multiple devices
Maintain visual consistency with the 6ix platform
Create a premium motion design experience rather than a simple tutorial

Creative Approach

To achieve this, I built a custom motion design workflow that combined both conceptual UI design and live product assets.
Desktop and mobile wireframes were created in Figma to establish the overall visual structure and animation system. To ensure accuracy and maintain visual fidelity with the actual product, I also imported live instances of the platform into Figma using HTML.to.Design. This provided clean, vector-based recreations of the interface that could be animated with significantly more flexibility than traditional screen recordings.
By combining custom layouts with production-ready UI assets, I was able to create smooth transitions between desktop and mobile experiences while keeping every interaction aligned with the live platform.

Production Process

UI Recreation & Design
Created custom desktop and mobile layouts in Figma
Built responsive compositions to showcase feature parity across devices
Maintained visual consistency with the live product
Platform Asset Integration
Imported live platform screens using HTML.to.Design
Converted interface elements into editable vector assets
Ensured accurate representation of the product experience
Motion Design & Animation
Animated synchronized desktop and mobile interactions
Used motion to guide attention toward key Watchlist functionality
Created transitions that reinforced the cross-platform nature of the feature

Tools Used

Figma
HTML.to.Design
Adobe After Effects

Outcome

The final video successfully showcased the Watchlist feature while reinforcing a core product message: users can access the same powerful functionality regardless of whether they're using the desktop or mobile platform.
Rather than relying on static demonstrations or screen recordings, the project transformed a functional product update into a visually engaging launch asset that communicated both usability and platform flexibility.
