ATTENTION GETTER:
Ladies and gentlemen,
Have you ever wondered.....
HOW DO YOU EAT AN ELEPHANT? (pause to grab their attention and create curiosity)
KEEP AUDIENCE HOOKED:
Peradventure, you have this Giant Sized Elephant you want to devour...(Move around and create curiosity)
Have you ever wondered...
How do you eat it? (Pause, this helps keep the audience mentally involved)
The answer is... (Breaking the silence)
ONE BITE AT A TIME! (smile)
CREATIVELY INTRODUCE THE TOPIC:
Ladies and Gentlemen, Standing before you is (name), and today, I want to talk to you on the Topic, ONE BITE AT A TIME: THE POWER OF BREAKING DOWN BIG GOALS.
But, before we delve in, I would love to express my appreciation to the convener of this event(mention the Convener or organization. This fosters honor and acknowledgement for the opportunity given to you, to speak at the event).
Thank you for organizing this event and giving me the privilege to share my idea via this platform.
(Take a pause, then continue)
BODY:
We've all been there - we set ambitious targets, but then feel overwhelmed and give up.
But what if I told you that the secret to success lies in taking tiny, consistent steps?
(pause for emphasis)
Let's say you want to improve your reading habits.
And for the first time...(Gesture with hands)
Instead of trying to read five books a week, you can start with one chapter a day.
Or, you're struggling to stay consistent with your fitness goal...(Pause and look at the audience)
You can start with a ten-minute walk, three times a week, and as you improve, you increase the frequency! (increase your pitch a little bit and use hand gestures)
As they say, a drop of water makes an ocean! (Introduce a quote to spice up your points.)
HOW CAN YOU CHUNK DOWN BIG GOALS INTO TINY ONES?
A. First and foremost, clearly define your goal and see that it is achievable; NOTE the word ACHIEVABLE; don't go about building castle in the air. Have a goal that can be accomplished! (Use hand gestures).
Write down that goal, write it boldly where you can often see it, and get motivated!
Statistics have shown that 70 percent of those who write down their goal achieve them compared to the 35 percent who don't! (Pause)
So, write it down!
B. Create a time frame and schedule for the goal. Attach deadlines! ( Raise your pitch, move around)
Let's say, you are a content creator, create a content calendar for your content.
A realistic one!
C. Be patient with yourself!
Even when you struggle with trying to be consistent, don't beat yourself up; rather, pick up yourself and persist.
Don't try turning yourself into noodles, trying so hard to cook for five minutes (Add a sense of humor).
In your attempt to achieve quick results, you overwhelm yourself with excessive tasks, and in the end, you break down! (Pause).
Don't rush huge tasks!
Take it slowly!
Take it bit by bit!
Start with three minutes, two times a week, or one chapter per day. As you build momentum and stamina, you then increase frequency!
CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, we often forget that it's not about making giant leaps, but about taking small, consistent steps. Your daily 15 minutes is more valuable than one hour once a month! ( gesture with hands)
We don't climb a palm tree from the top; we start from the bottom, one step at a time.
So, I ask you again... How do you eat an elephant? (pause)
One bite at a time! (Involve the audience and ask them to chorus it)
(conclude with enthusiasm)
Let's break down our big goals into tiny, achievable steps. Let's take it one bite at a time!
