A Windows 8 application created for the Microsoft Retail division that profiles the device it’s running on and serves up consumer friendly information meant to assist in selection and purchase of the best PC for them, in addition to marketing the new Windows 8 operating system and accompanying Office suite.
First known as the About Me app, and later called the Attract Loop, this application was installed on every PC in every major retail establishment globally, in 46 different languages, and had an audience in the tens of millions of people.
Under the hood, the app was built using the WinJS framework, HTML and CSS. Delivery of this project required that I balance my individual workload in tandem to managing and training a team of six additional developers that were new to Windows 8 development at the time. Upon completion, live demo of the work to stakeholders at Microsoft won a standing ovation.
