Designing a Premium Brand Website for a Modern Finance Podcast by Julia IbriDesigning a Premium Brand Website for a Modern Finance Podcast by Julia Ibri
Deal Flow Diaries is a podcast hosted by Alexandra Fairweather and Elaine Chamberlain, exploring business, investing, and entrepreneurship through conversations that connect finance with culture, fashion, real estate, art, and innovation.
The founders needed a website that would establish a strong online presence, showcase their episodes, and seamlessly connect visitors to their podcast hosting platform.
While most visitors would discover the podcast through social media, the website needed to reinforce the brand's credibility, encourage listening, and present the podcast as an attractive platform for future partners and sponsors.
The Challenge
As a new media brand, Deal Flow Diaries needed more than a website—it needed a recognizable digital identity.
The challenge was to create an experience that balanced sophistication with accessibility while reflecting the hosts' unique positioning at the intersection of business, investing, and culture.
The website also needed to:
introduce the podcast and its mission
organize episodes in a clear way
encourage visitors to listen through external podcast platforms
present the hosts professionally for potential partnerships
establish a memorable visual identity from day one
Strategic Approach
Working closely with the founders, I designed the complete website structure and visual experience.
Starting from their vision and visual references, I developed the information architecture, defined the user journey, and translated the brand into a cohesive editorial-inspired interface.
My work included:
planning the sitemap and user flow across five pages
designing the complete UI in Figma
creating a premium visual direction inspired by editorial publications
designing reusable design system components
building custom podcast player components
developing the entire website in Framer
Solution
Creating an Editorial Brand Identity
The founders wanted the website to feel elegant, feminine, and premium.
Inspired by the photography selected for the project, I built a visual language centered around rich burgundy tones, warm neutrals, generous white space, and refined typography, creating an experience that feels closer to a luxury editorial magazine than a traditional podcast website.
Structuring the User Journey
Although traffic primarily comes from Instagram and other social platforms, visitors still need to quickly understand what the podcast offers.
The website was structured around a simple journey:
discover the podcast
explore recent episodes
learn about the hosts
choose a listening platform
subscribe to the newsletter or get in touch
Designing a Scalable Component System
To ensure consistency across the website, I designed a reusable component library including:
podcast episode cards
audio player components
buttons and CTAs
navigation
newsletter section
reusable content layouts
This allows the website to grow easily as new episodes are released.
Connecting the Website to Podcast Platforms
Instead of hosting audio directly, the website acts as a premium gateway to the podcast ecosystem.
Each episode seamlessly links visitors to their preferred listening platform, creating a frictionless experience while keeping the website lightweight and easy to maintain.
Outcome
The result is a distinctive digital presence that reflects the personality of Deal Flow Diaries while supporting both audience growth and brand partnerships.
The website positions the podcast as a premium media brand, giving visitors a clear understanding of its mission while making it effortless to start listening.
