Wubble: A WebGL-Powered Studio Site Built in Webflow

Wubble is my independent creative studio and Webflow Certified Partner practice. I work with ambitious brands, studios and agencies, right where design meets development. My old site didn't reflect that anymore, so I redesigned and rebuilt it from scratch: strategy, design, 3D, motion and development, all in-house.

The challenge:

A studio site has one job: prove you can do the thing before anyone reads a word. For a creative developer, a clean template isn't enough. I wanted real-time 3D and custom shaders running inside Webflow, without sacrificing speed, usability or the ability to update projects through the CMS.

The approach

I started in Figma with a bold, type-driven direction built around one idea: next level. Big statements, minimal copy, and an immersive WebGL layer that makes the site feel alive.

Real-time 3D with Three.js

Animated 3D models rendered directly in the browser, reacting to scroll and cursor movement. The 3D isn't decoration on top of the site, it's part of how you move through it.

Custom shaders

A grain and noise dissolve transition that erodes elements as you scroll, written in GLSL instead of relying on off-the-shelf effects. It gives the site a tactile, almost analog texture.

Interaction first

The hero invites you to hover and play instead of just scroll. A loading experience with a counter preloads the 3D assets and sets the tone before the page even appears.

A nod to the code

The about section is styled as a terminal (wubble@studio:~$ cat about.txt), paired with a live clock and a "Remote · Worldwide" status. A small detail that tells you who's behind the work: a developer who designs, working across time zones for clients in the Netherlands and the US.

Services shown through real work

Each service (Web Design & UX, Webflow Development, Creative & Interactive Development, E-commerce & CMS) is paired with a live client project instead of stock imagery. The portfolio does the selling.

The build

Designed in Figma, built in Webflow. The 3D scenes run on Three.js and WebGL with custom GLSL shaders, integrated into Webflow through custom code so the visual layer and the CMS work together seamlessly.
The biggest challenge was performance. Real-time 3D is heavy, so I focused on efficient asset loading, keeping animations smooth on mobile and lower-end devices, and making sure the site stays fast and usable while the WebGL layer runs. The work section is fully CMS-driven, so adding a new project takes minutes, not a redesign.

The result

A site that works as a portfolio piece in itself. It showcases projects like LegalPA, Luis Brown, Foedsie and Wiwi, and it was part of my application to become a Webflow Certified Partner

Beyond the ordinary. Built to stand out.
