There are many solutions to the shortage of teachers in classrooms within our district, none of which [HR representative, name redacted for privacy], offered to me or even attempted to discuss with me after I declined the transfer, which would have greatly reduced my capacity to care for my own family. Instead, due to her actions and lack of compassion, [school district] is left without one more certified and qualified teacher. With this unfortunate sequence of events, I have endured much emotional anxiety and stress, having to rearrange my care and travel schedule for my mother during a time I had off, consider lifestyle changes, and half-heartedly seek out new employment while I know my students need me. It was with deep sadness that I felt I was forced to resign my position with [school name], where I earned a reputation as a kind, compassionate, and diligent educator. Had your HR department, represented to me by [HR representative], acted in any capacity with empathy, understanding, or at bare minimum, a sliver of care for the teachers that educate the students of this district, perhaps there would be less of a shortage issue."
