tbt: It’s 2017. I’m in San Francisco, at 500 Startups office. Everyone’s building something, so am I. I’m working on an app meant to replace Eventbrite + Facebook for private community events.

The business model is simple: take a small % from ticket sales. I’m prototyping the app (in PP), wire-framing, writing specs (in GDoc), and meeting community organisers, all while doing the School42 program where I'm learning to code.

I gather ~10k early users and have a developer who’s helping to build the app in React Native.

I bootstrap for almost a year. I can’t code the app myself fast enough, and I can’t afford the dev. The project dies.
