Recreation

This project was a collaboration with my colleague Alexa Armamento, Design Specialist at Stanford Recreation and Wellness, who helped bring this project to life.

Objective

The primary objective of the 23/24 annual report, "On Track for Tomorrow," was to demonstrate the role of Stanford Recreation and Wellness in enhancing community life at Stanford University. Through data analysis and storytelling, the report aimed to communicate our achievements and operational needs to key stakeholders, emphasizing the necessity of further funding to bridge the gap between current services and the growing demands of the community.

What I've Done

Data Compilation: Gathered and organized extensive data from our central database and various program areas to depict year-over-year growth and showcase sustained community engagement and loyalty.
Consulting Insights: Collaborated with consultants who analyzed our operations and conducted community surveys to identify significant service gaps.
Strategic Storytelling: Utilized historical context and future-oriented language to align our mission with the founding values of Stanford, as articulated by Leland Stanford over a century ago.

Creative Process

The creative process began with an in-depth analysis of existing data to identify trends and insights. This quantitative foundation was complemented by qualitative feedback from community surveys, enabling a holistic view of our services. The narrative was crafted to resonate with the ethos of Stanford’s founding principles, emphasizing physical and mental health as essential components of academic and life success. We also drew parallels between historical advancements and our current initiatives to enhance the sense of continuity and urgency in our mission.

Results

The annual report has been instrumental in highlighting the critical role of Stanford Recreation and Wellness in fostering an inclusive and healthy community. By showcasing specific examples of capacity reach and community engagement, we have effectively communicated the pressing need for expanded resources and facilities to accommodate growing interest and participation in our programs.

Conclusion

"On Track for Tomorrow" is more than a reflection of past accomplishments; it is a call to action for the future development of Stanford Recreation and Wellness. As we approach our 20th anniversary, the report serves as a pivotal tool in advocating for the enhancements necessary to sustain and expand our influence on the Stanford community's well-being. Our commitment to improving student life—both physically and mentally—is unwavering, and with the support of the University leadership, we are poised to continue transforming lives in accordance with Stanford's visionary legacy.
