Football fans rely on mobile devices for live scores, match updates, and team news. Liga Portugal needed a seamless, engaging, and high-performing mobile experience. The existing app had usability issues, inconsistent design, and performance challenges. This section explores the redesign and optimisation process, focusing on research insights and UX/UI improvements.

The mobile app had several key issues. Navigation was unintuitive due to an inconsistent design system. Slow loading times and laggy transitions hurt engagement. The app did not adapt well to different screen sizes. Personalisation options were limited, preventing users from customising their experience.

To identify pain points, we conducted a detailed research phase. User interviews and surveys with football fans, journalists, and frequent users revealed frustrations.

We analysed top football apps like FIFA, OneFootball, and the Premier League.

Competitive benchmarking provided industry insights. We examined top football league websites like the Premier League and La Liga to identify best practices in structure, navigation, and engagement.

The UI/UX was completely revamped for better usability. The new design was clean and modern, improving readability and navigation. The content structure was enhanced, making match results, team standings, and news updates more accessible.

I led the design side of the project as a Digital Product Designer, ensuring a seamless experience across both mobile and web platforms. The collaboration with the Magycal and Hop team for the development of this product was essential.
