Setting the Foundation

I used the foundations I was developing on the design side which would soon become Clara, my new design system, something I knew would be increasingly important as we got closer to releasing our product to clients.

A Front-End Generator

The site was not just a marketing device, it was also the main battery behind the Mobii app and it's associated content. Views that appeared in Mobii were often delivered via a web wrapper into the native Android and iOS app. It felt like it was part of the app but offered the flexibility of the web.

Morphing Into Modern

I wanted performance and speed to be very high because our app was used in various environments that included problematic conenction spaces such as covered stadiums, outside areas through geofencing and low internet coverage venues.
So I introduced React.
To further enhance the perception of an app-like experience I introduced React and started building views with core components that were shared.

Leveraging Myself

Our time had wavering developer team compositions: sometimes it was stronger, sometimes weaker - sometimes not even existent on a platform so I did everything I could to create a gamified experience for the Users (whom I often interacted with).
Working with the content, or marketing team, I added interactivity as much as I could, weaved in email and social campaigns and built templates in support of it all so all content members could contribute.

An Interaction Battery

The result was a powerful little engine, and in the right hands, downright mighty. I left the flexibility for one side to be friendly enough for a moderately seasoned or, in some cases, even junior designers to craft directly with code and components and the other side was the foundation for an advanced, lightning-quick app views that went beyond the limitations of native platforms.
