Case Study: Building a Fresh, Engaging Website for a Non-Profit
Background A non-profit organization needed a modern, user-friendly website to better showcase their mission and programs. Their old WordPress site was outdated, offered limited functionality, and lacked engaging visuals. As a board member of the non-profit, I took on the project at a discounted rate to support their cause and provide an impactful digital experience.
The Challenge
Migrate existing blog content from WordPress to Webflow without losing valuable posts and data.
Develop a new site structure and design that’s both visually engaging and easy to navigate.
Introduce interactive features—like custom animations and search/filter functionality—to enhance user engagement.
The Approach
Platform Transition: Migrated essential content from WordPress to Webflow, creating a cleaner, modern foundation.
Fresh Design: Leveraged Webflow’s native animations, along with GSAP, Swiper.js, and custom CSS/JavaScript for interactive sliders, text color transitions, and fun marquee effects.
AI-Generated Assets: Used Midjourney to generate unique vector accents and icons, which were then converted to simplified SVGs for a cohesive brand feel.
Enhanced Blog Features: Implemented searchable and filterable blog functionality, improving content discovery and user engagement.
Key Highlights
Animated Hero Slider for immediate visual impact.
Custom Counter & Text Effects to showcase important stats and key messages.
Midjourney-Generated Icons & Illustrations for a playful pop of color.
