Let's talk about that mum friend.
You know, the one who doesn't flinch when you confess your toddler ate cheerios off the floor. (Again.) I found mine in a hospital room, both of us fresh from emergency C-sections, bonding over eye rolls and that one nurse who just couldn't read the room.
You can have the world's best partner and the most supportive family, but sometimes you just need that mom friend who doesn't blink at your braless, messy-bun energy.
Enter villagemotherhood.co – the motherhood matchmaker you didn't know you needed. Need a doula? Done. Lactation expert? Got you. Want to do yoga while someone watches your tiny human? Hell yes.
When designing their brand, I could've gone a million ways, but the "V/ village flower" bloomed brightest. Because let's be real – motherhood shouldn't just be about surviving with unwashed hair. It's about thriving (even if there's still spit-up on your shirt).
From Blank Canvas to Street-Level Soul
I started with the bones. Strategy first. The quiet work, the deep thinking, the questions that make you pause. Where do we belong in the world? What do we stand for when the noise fades? I found my client's corner of the universe—their brand positioning—and made it a place worth staying.
Then, I leaned in closer. I listened for their voice, the one that might’ve been whispering under the surface all along. I coaxed it out, gave it shape, and taught it how to show up online—honest, unpolished, and human.
When it was time to make it visual, I didn’t settle. I drew the lines, chose the colours, and crafted a logo that felt like a signature—something only they could own. And I didn’t stop there. I painted the windows with illustrations that tell a story even when no one’s listening. A quiet kind of magic, speaking to anyone passing by.
This wasn’t just about building a brand. It was about building a presence. A feeling. Something that lingers.
