KnowYuu is a couples game app I built to help partners learn more about each other through playful questions, guesses, challenges, and meaningful conversations.

The goal was to turn a simple couples-game concept into a polished mobile product that two partners could actually experience together.

Most couples games are either static question lists or one-person experiences.

For KnowYuu, I wanted the experience to feel genuinely shared. Partners needed to be able to connect their accounts, play together, answer independently, guess each other's responses, and discover how well they know one another.

The app also needed enough variety to keep couples coming back instead of feeling repetitive after a few rounds.

I designed and developed KnowYuu as a multi-mode couples game with experiences ranging from lighthearted questions to deeper conversations.

Each mode has its own gameplay mechanics, topics, questions, and results while remaining part of one consistent experience.

A major part of the project was designing the app around two connected users rather than a traditional single-user flow.

Partners can connect their accounts and participate in shared games where one person's actions affect what the other sees.

For example, in How Well Do You Know Me?, one partner answers a set of questions first. The other partner then tries to predict those answers before the results are revealed.

This required building the game state, answer and guessing flows, partner synchronization, results, and progression as one connected system.

Instead of presenting every mode as another list of questions, I created different interaction patterns for each experience.

KnowYuu includes topic selection, an animated roulette wheel, answer and guessing rounds, reveals, compatibility-style results, challenges, and different question formats.

The result is one app with several distinct ways for couples to play and connect.

I wanted KnowYuu to feel playful, warm, and modern without becoming overly childish.

The interface uses a pink, coral, purple, and warm-white visual system with illustrations, animations, cards, avatars, and lightweight interactions throughout the experience.

The product was designed mobile-first with an emphasis on making starting and completing a game feel effortless.

I handled the project from product development through release preparation, including the mobile experience, game systems, backend integration, production configuration, App Store assets, and submission.

A particularly rewarding milestone was having KnowYuu approved by Apple on its first App Store review submission.

The app is now live on the App Store.

KnowYuu went from an idea for a couples game to a production mobile application with multiple game modes, shared partner experiences, premium functionality, and a foundation that can continue growing with new games, topics, and ways for couples to connect.

This project gave me the opportunity to work across product thinking, UI/UX, React Native development, backend architecture, two-user synchronization, subscriptions, deployment, and mobile app release, taking the product all the way from concept to the App Store.
